Simba Thrash TRA United 3-0 to Climb to Second Place

Simba SC delivered a dominant performance at Meja Jenerali Isamuhyo Stadium today, securing a convincing 3-0 victory over TRA United in an NBC Premier League match.

It was a completely different level of football that TRA United faced, as coach Steve Barker’s side showed strong determination and hunger for all three points.

Simba took the lead as early as the 12th minute through Suleiman Mwalimu, who scored his fifth goal of the season.

The goal came from the penalty spot after Nickson Kibabage was fouled inside the box.

Simba went into halftime with a 1-0 lead, a result that boosted their confidence heading into the second half.

The pace from wingers Libasse Gueye and Annicet Oura caused constant problems for the TRA United defense, forcing them into repeated fouls.

From a free kick, Neo Maema doubled the lead in the 67th minute before Yusuph Kagoma added the third goal late in the match.

The game could have ended with an even bigger scoreline had Simba’s attackers been more clinical, with Elie Mpanzu missing one of the clearest chances in the closing minutes.

The victory earns Simba three crucial points, lifting them to second place in the standings with 31 points, overtaking Azam FC who have 29 points.

Simba still have two games in hand against league leaders Yanga, who sit at the top with 38 points after 16 matches.
