Chelsea FC have reported the largest pre-tax loss in Premier League history, despite recording a significant increase in revenue during the 2024–25 season.
According to reports, Chelsea posted a pre-tax loss of around £262.4 million, a new negative record in the league while their revenue rose to approximately £491 million.
The losses are largely attributed to rising operating costs, including heavy spending on player transfers, wages, and matchday expenses, following major investment in the squad and the club’s infrastructure.
However, despite the substantial losses, Chelsea remain compliant with the league’s financial regulations, thanks to previous profits and accounting strategies. The club is also optimistic about increasing revenue in the future to restore financial balance.
