Singida Black Stars Coach Ouma Concerned Over Poor Finishing

Singida Black Stars assistant coach David Ouma has openly expressed his dissatisfaction with the team’s attacking line following a run of poor results in recent Premier League matches.

Speaking after their latest defeat—a 2–1 loss to Azam FC at home—Ouma said the main issue is not how the team plays, but their inability to convert scoring chances during the 90 minutes.

He explained that his squad has the ability to control possession and create numerous opportunities, but poor finishing in front of goal has been costing them positive results.

“We play well and reach the opponent’s goal many times, but we don’t convert our chances. That’s where we lose matches,” said the Kenyan coach.

In that match, Singida Black Stars showed a strong start but failed to maintain their momentum, while Azam FC capitalized on limited chances to secure the win.

Statistics indicate that Singida BS have been creating many goal-scoring opportunities, but their conversion rate remains low, raising concerns about the effectiveness of their attacking unit.

Some of the forwards expected to perform well this season, including Joseph Gueye and Elvis Rupia, have struggled for form, while others have failed to make a significant impact despite regular playing time.

As a result, Ouma revealed that the technical bench has begun searching for immediate solutions to improve the attack ahead of a tough run of upcoming fixtures, including introducing specialized finishing training sessions.

The coach emphasized that they still have confidence in the current players, but stressed the need for self-assessment and greater effort to restore the team’s competitiveness in the league.
