Luis Enrique Says Bayern Munich Were PSG Toughest Opponents Ahead of Arsenal Final

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) head coach Luis Enrique has described Bayern Munich as the toughest team his side faced on their journey to the UEFA Champions League final this season.

Enrique made the remarks after PSG secured qualification for the final by eliminating Bayern Munich 6-5 on aggregate following a 1-1 draw in the second leg at Allianz Arena in Germany.

Speaking after the match, Luis Enrique admitted that Bayern were among the most dangerous opponents PSG had encountered due to their attacking quality and the intense pressure they applied across both semi-final matches.

The Spanish coach revealed that he was particularly concerned about Bayern’s pace in attack and their vast experience in European competition.

However, Enrique insisted that he has no fear heading into the final against Arsenal, which will be played in Budapest later this month.

Luis Enrique said PSG have shown they can compete against Europe’s best teams and believes his squad is fully prepared to defend their European crown against Arsenal.

PSG have now reached their second consecutive UEFA Champions League final after winning the competition in 2025 with a historic 5-0 victory over Inter Milan.

Meanwhile, Arsenal booked their place in the final after eliminating Atletico Madrid and will now be chasing the first UEFA Champions League title in the club’s history.

The 2026 UEFA Champions League final is scheduled to take place on May 30 at Puskás Aréna in Budapest, Hungary, with PSG aiming to become the first club to successfully defend the title since Real Madrid achieved the feat in 2018.
