Despite missing a large part of the season due to injury, the high level shown by goalkeeper Moussa Camara before he got injured continues to serve as a benchmark for Simba SC goalkeepers, especially Djibrilla Kassali, who has carried the responsibility of guarding the team’s goal for a long stretch of the season.
Speaking ahead of the CRDB Bank Federation Cup final and the conclusion of the NBC Premier League season, Simba SC’s Head of Information and Communications, Ahmed Ally, said Camara’s quality left a strong mark within the squad.
Ahmed Ally explained that many fans and football stakeholders have been comparing the current goalkeepers’ performances with what Camara showed before his injury, highlighting how important he was to the team.
"Camara set a very high standard before getting injured, which is why even now people still mention him and compare him with the current goalkeepers. That shows his quality and his contribution to the team," said Ahmed Ally.
For now, Simba SC continues preparing for crucial end-of-season matches as they look to finish their campaign successfully in domestic competitions.
