Yanga’s Information and Communications Manager, Ally Kamwe, has declared that the team arrived in Zanzibar with only one mission: to secure the NBC Premier League title and erase the disappointment of their defeat to Azam FC in the CRDB Bank Federation Cup semi-final.
Speaking shortly after the team's arrival on the islands, Kamwe said Azam FC have been left with nothing but stories to tell following their recent victory, insisting that Yanga are fully prepared to finish the job in their upcoming match.
“We have already eaten the whole cow; the hoof is very small and much easier,” said Kamwe, using a Swahili proverb to suggest that the remaining step towards the league title is minor compared to the work Yanga have already done throughout the season.
However, Yanga face a tough challenge against Azam FC, who have already demonstrated their ability to stop the league giants after claiming a 3-2 victory in the Federation Cup semi-final. The big question now is: Can Azam FC defeat Yanga for a second consecutive time at the New Amaan Complex, or will the Citizens use the match to prove their superiority and clinch the Tanzania Mainland Premier League title?
