CECAFA Kagame Cup holders Singida Black Stars are set to report to camp on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, as they officially begin preparations for the 2026/27 season. The early start comes as the club gears up to defend its regional title while also preparing for the upcoming domestic campaign.
Singida Black Stars enter pre-season as the reigning CECAFA Kagame Cup champions after defeating Sudan's Al Hilal in last season's final, which was played in Dar es Salaam. This year's tournament will be held in Kigali, Rwanda, from July 24 to August 7, 2026.
The Tanzanian side has been drawn in Group B alongside Simba SC, South Sudan's Jamus SC, and Somalia's Mogadishu City Club. The group is expected to be highly competitive, with every team aiming to secure a place in the knockout stage.
Beyond defending their Kagame Cup crown, the training camp will also serve as a key part of Singida Black Stars' preparations for the new Tanzania Mainland Premier League season. Club officials believe that beginning pre-season early will give the squad enough time to build chemistry and strengthen its competitiveness for both domestic and continental competitions.
