Simba SC Head of Information and Communications Ahmed Ally has officially announced that Simba Day 2026 will take place on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Uhuru Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
The event will serve as a special occasion to unveil the squad that will represent the club during the new competitive season.
Ahmed explained that the decision to move the event to Uhuru Stadium was made due to major renovation works currently taking place at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
"Simba Day 2026 will be held at Uhuru Stadium. Due to the global significance of this event, we would have preferred to host it at Mkapa Stadium, but the venue is currently undergoing renovations. Therefore, Uhuru Stadium will be used. We have already inspected the venue and received guidance from the relevant authorities. The event will also be used to celebrate Simba Sports Club's 90th anniversary," he said.
Ahmed added that preparations for the event are progressing well, with the club's management determined to ensure supporters enjoy entertainment while also getting the opportunity to see the newly signed players and the stars who will remain to fight for the Msimbazi Reds.
Simba Day will also serve as an opportunity to strengthen the bond between the club and its supporters ahead of the new Premier League season, the Federation Cup, and international competitions, with thousands of fans expected to attend and support their team.
