DR Congo club St. Eloi Lupopo has officially confirmed that it will hold its pre-season training camp in Tanzania ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The Congolese champions are expected to spend several days in Tanzania preparing for the new campaign. The country was chosen because of its favorable training conditions and the high level of competition in the Tanzania Mainland Premier League.
Reports indicate that Lupopo plans to arrange several friendly matches against some of Tanzania's top clubs, with Young Africans SC (Yanga) among the teams being considered as potential opponents.
If the match is confirmed, it will provide an important opportunity for both Yanga and St. Eloi Lupopo to assess their squads before the start of the official season, while also giving their coaches a chance to evaluate new signings and test different tactical systems.
For Yanga, a friendly against Lupopo would be a valuable part of their preparations for both the Tanzania Mainland Premier League and the CAF Champions League. For Lupopo, it would serve as an important test as they gear up for the new football season in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
