The Tanzania Premier League Operations and Management Committee has officially overturned the red-card sanction issued to Azam FC player Gibril Sillah during match number 034 against Kagera Sugar, which ended in a 2-0 victory for Azam FC.
The decision was reached after the committee reviewed video footage and expert reports and was satisfied that Sillah did not deserve to be sent off. The committee said the decision was made in accordance with Regulation 12:8 of the Premier League Regulations concerning league administration.
Meanwhile, the committee has issued a stern warning to the match’s reserve referee, Greyson Buchard of Kagera, over what it described as officiating shortcomings resulting from a failure to correctly interpret the Laws of the Game.
The sanction was issued in accordance with Regulation 43:1(1.8), which covers the control and discipline of match officials.
