Young Africans (Yanga SC) striker Selemani Mwalimu, 20, has been added to the Tanzania U23 squad ahead of tomorrow’s AFCON U23 qualifier against Kenya.
Mwalimu joins Juma Abushiri, 18, who was also added to the U23 squad after initially being part of the Tanzania U20 team. The inclusion of the two players is expected to give the coach more options for the crucial match.
Tanzania head into the game with a difficult task after losing the first leg 4-1 to Kenya. The team needs to win by at least four goals to overturn the result and advance in the race to qualify for the AFCON U23 tournament.
