Kenyan international attacking midfielder and Harambee Stars player Mohammed Bajaber has officially returned to Kenya after completing his move to Nairobi United FC.
Bajaber has joined the Kenyan second-tier side as a free agent, signing a two-year contract.
The star had been without a club since July this year after parting ways with Tanzanian giants Simba SC by mutual consent.
His time with the Reds of Msimbazi was marked by recurring injury problems that prevented him from consistently showcasing his talent on the pitch.
Bajaber’s decision to join Nairobi United has come as a major surprise in Kenyan football. Local reports indicate that the player turned down a lucrative offer from reigning FKF Premier League champions Gor Mahia FC, who were reportedly pushing hard to secure his signature and strengthen their squad.
The return of the highly talented player to Kenyan football is being viewed as a major boost for Nairobi United, who have serious ambitions of earning promotion to the top flight this season.
His international experience and ability to operate in several attacking positions are expected to be key factors in the success of his new club.
