Pamba Jiji FC made a stunning statement in the NBC Premier League after thrashing Geita Gold 4-0 at CCM Kirumba Stadium in Mwanza.
The emphatic victory, their first of the season, was built on a dominant attacking display, with the forwards showing exceptional sharpness from the opening minute.
Hosts Pamba Jiji made their intentions to claim all three points clear early on, with striker Mafie opening the scoring with an early goal before Diomande added a second to send the home side into the break with a 2-0 lead.
The second half began at the same high tempo, with Geita Gold’s defence losing concentration and allowing Mayombya to score the third before Msabila put the final nail in the coffin with a fourth, completing a heavy defeat for the visitors.
The crucial victory gives head coach Francis Baraza some breathing room after he made good use of the FIFA break to address weaknesses within his squad.
For Geita Gold, the defeat leaves them needing to regroup and strengthen a defence that appeared unable to cope with Pamba Jiji’s pace, as they were hit by a surprise “4G” in Mwanza.
