Despite suffering a 2-1 defeat, Yanga acknowledged the value of their supporters, who came out in force to cheer on the team. The club’s leadership has assured fans that the team will return stronger.
Following the derby, the five-time consecutive Tanzanian Premier League champions have shifted their focus to the CAF Champions League, where their next opponents are Madagascar’s CFFA.
The first-leg encounter, which will determine the teams’ progress towards securing a place in the group stage, is scheduled to take place at Azam Complex on Saturday, October 17.
